21 Flights from Karachi Jinnah int’l Airport were Canceled

Karachi Airport canceled 21 flights from multiple airlines on Friday.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) reports that both local and international flights have been impacted, with seven international flights and 14 domestic flights from various airlines being canceled.

The CAA claims that the airlines gave operational justifications for the cancellations.

There are no longer any domestic flights to Islamabad, Lahore, Bahawalpur, or Rahim Yar Khan. Projects to Turbat, Peshawar, and Faisalabad have also been abandoned.

On the international front, flights to Riyadh, Muscat, Baku, Jeddah, Madinah, and Dubai have all been canceled.

Notably, flights were canceled by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), Emirates, Air Sial, Fly Jinnah, and Air Blue.

Numerous domestic and international flights have been cancel by PIA due to continued cash flow problems, which are severe.

Flight operations could be suspended by September 15 (today), according to a high-ranking official of the national flag carrier, if emergency funds are not given.

It’s important to remember that PIA requested a Rs 22.9 billion emergency bailout, but the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) rejected the request.
