Nokia C12 Launched Globally with Android 12 Go Edition

HMD Global launches Nokia C12, a budget Android 12 Go Edition phone.

This phone is a smaller version of the Nokia C10, which was released in early 2021. Yes, we are skipping C11 and moving directly to C12.

Display and Design

The C12 includes a 6.3″ LCD with HD+ resolution, measuring 160.6 x 74.3 x 8.75mm and weighing 177.4g, compared to the C10’s 6.52″ display, measuring 169.9 x 77.9 x 8.8mm, and 191g.

The display of the more modern Nokia C31 is considerably bigger at 6.75 inches.

The main camera has been relocated to a corner, which is the sole visual modification.

The bezels are still substantial and fingerprint unlocking is still unavailable.

Hardware and software

The entry-level Unisoc SC9863A1 chipset, based on a dated 28nm node, powers the Nokia C12.

It contains a PowerVR IMG 8322 GPU and 8 Cortex-A55 cores, 4 of which run at 1.6 GHz and 4 at 1.2 GHz.

The phone has 2 GB of RAM out of the box, and an additional 2 GB of virtual RAM may be added.

Fortunately, since the Go Edition of Android OS is made for low-cost smartphones, it can function with as little as 1 GB of RAM.

There is no micro SD card slot for expansion despite the 64 GB of internal storage.

Camera

The Nokia C12 sports two cameras: a 5MP front-facing camera in a notch and an 8MP back camera with autofocus and an LED flash.

Both cameras offer a Portrait and Night mode. While the front camera can only capture 720p films, the rear camera is capable of recording 1080 30 FPS footage.

Pricing and Battery

Additionally, the 3,000 mAh battery capacity and lack of inbuilt quick charging remain the same. It has a micro USB port where it may be charged.

The phone starts at $130 and is only offered with a single memory configuration (2 GB/64 GB).

It is accessible in several places around the world, but it is unknown when it will reach Pakistan.
