Actor and rapper Nashawn Breedlove, from ‘8 Mile’, passes away at 46.
Actor Nashawn Breedlove made his debut on the soundtrack to the 2001 film The Wash, and played arch rival Lotto in the 2002 film, based on the life of rapper Eminem.
His mother confirmed his death on social media on Tuesday, according to TMZ, saying he died in his sleep at his New Jersey home on Sunday.
Rapper Mickey Facts called Breedlove one of the few people to beat Eminem.
“You will be remembered for your determination and perseverance,” he added in a tribute posted on Instagram.
No one can deny his talent, his mother wrote in a Facebook post on Tuesday. Nashawn’s death has left a deep void in my life, the pain and suffering I feel cannot be expressed in words.
He said that he was not just my son, he was a remarkable man whose character inspired all people.
A number of tributes to Breedlove recalled his role in 8 Mile.
Although he ultimately lost the battle, his performance in the film was a hit with the entire audience.
The film was a huge success at the box office, resulting in Eminem’s track Lose Yourself winning the Academy Award for Best Original Song.
Breedlove’s cause of death is currently unknown, according to family sources.
