US Congress delegation visits COAS Gen Bajwa

Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee led a five-person US delegation that met with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa to show support for Pakistan’s flood victims.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, the conversation covered issues of shared interest, the state of regional security, and bilateral cooperation in a number of fields (ISPR).

The US team expressed their sadness over the damage caused by the most recent floods in Pakistan and their deepest sympathies to the families of the flood victims. They pledged to provide the people of Pakistan with aid during this difficult time.

However, the US officials acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts to uphold regional stability and pledged to do their part to enhance cooperation with Pakistan on a variety of fronts.

The COAS expressed his appreciation for US aid and reaffirmed the necessity of help from Pakistan’s foreign allies for the rescue and rehabilitation of flood victims.

A day earlier, the US delegation led by Congress Representative Sheila Jackson Lee met Climate Change Minister Sherry Rehman and vowed to help flood-affected people of Pakistan.

According to details, Sherry Rehman meets US Congressional delegation and apprised them of the current relief efforts and the assistance required for rehabilitation of the flood affected areas and population.
