165 Year Old Jeans Sold at Auction for Rs 2.5 Crore

Oldest jeans, found on a ship sunk in 1857, auctioned Rs 2.5 crore.

Holbert Western American Collections, an American auction house, auctioned off a pair of pants. Furthermore, the white texture of the jeans shows that they were most likely created for miners to wear.

On December 3, the jeans were auctioned off at Holabird Americana. A slew of additional items was recovered among the debris of the “Ship of Gold.”

Central America Ship

The SS Central America, which sunk to the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean in 1857, left behind hundreds of historic artifacts that are now being sold.

Additionally, in the 1850s, the SS Central America, an 85-meter (280-foot) steamship, ran between Central America and the US East Coast.

Various Items

Numerous rings, stickpins, cufflinks, and pocket watch cases were among the various goods sold. A trunk of marine supplies, the keys to the gold treasure room, as well as some gold coins and paper money from the 1850s were also up for sale.
