DELHI: AAP in India terminated Modi rule in Delhi after fifteen years.
Against Modi, The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has triumphed in the municipal corporation elections in New Delhi, the Indian capital. In the elections for the Delhi municipal corporation, the Aam Aadmi Party took home 134 of the available 250 seats.
Congress was only allowed to win nine seats, whereas BJP was able to win 104. Following the election results, the BJP’s fifteen-year hegemony in Delhi came to an end.
One hundred and twenty seats are needed to form a government in Delhi. The Aam Aadmi Party and the Congress each only managed to win forty-eight seats, while the BJP secured one hundred and eighty seats.
Arun Kejriwal, the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party, expressed his gratitude to Delhi’s electorate in his victory speech and noted that they had picked his son and brother to oversee the municipal corporation.
The goal, according to Arvind Kejriwal, is to “eradicate corruption and bad politics.” It should be remembered that in the 2017 municipal corporation elections, the BJP won 180 seats, while the Aam Aadmi Party won only 48 seats and the Congress 30 seats.
