Sindh Heatwave Breaks 80-Year-Old Record

A temperature of 40 degrees Celsius was reported in Mithi, Tharparkar.

The region hasn’t experienced a temperature this high in February in 80 years, according to weather sources. Indicating the start of Sindh’s predicted heatwave.

According to estimates from earlier this week, the region is anticipated to set similar meteorological records in the ensuing days.

The temperature in Sindh is anticipated to rise over the coming days to between 36 and 38 degrees Celsius, according to the prediction.

The province’s Tharparkar, Mirpur Khas, Umarkot, Badin, and Thatta districts should experience an increase in temperatures, according to Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz.

Temperatures in other parts of Sindh are not anticipated to increase as swiftly as they are in Karachi, where the high is predicted to be 33 degrees Celsius on February 17 and 18.

The cooling effects of the sea wind are expected to be temporarily delayed as a result of an Anticyclonic Circulation approaching the shore, and this warm spell is predicted to last until February 21.
