Truck taking employees to a construction site in Waziristan, close to the Afghan border, was destroyed when a suspected improvised explosive device detonated, according to security and police officials in the province’s northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
They were engaged in construction work at an army station. Rehan Khattak, the deputy commissioner of North Waziristan, was quoted in Reuters as stating that an IED exploded underneath a vehicle transporting the laborers.
The explosion was not immediately attributed to any particular organization.
