The day aims to ensure that women have equal opportunities in jobs, education, and health while raising awareness about gender bias and taking steps towards equality.
Several organizations have organized events to commemorate the day and raise awareness about the importance of women’s advancement, emphasizing that inclusive and sustainable socioeconomic development is only possible if women have equal opportunities and a supportive environment in which to grow.
Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari announced that the Punjab government will launch the Never Again app to improve women’s safety on the orders of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
Maryam Nawaz is said to be committed to preserving women’s rights and interests.
Explaining the Chief Minister’s commitment to the protection of women, Uzma Bukhari said the Never Again app will play an important role in tracking and solving issues related to women’s rights and security.
