Sony Pictures has begun production on a film based on the Labobo doll to entertain children and adults.
The report states that a Hong Kong artist named Ksing Long invented the doll called Labobo in 2015 and is now being marketed by a Chinese corporation, Pop Mart. The toy has created a collector’s market because it is only offered in blind boxes, meaning the buyer is unaware of which model they will receive.
The Labobo doll has become quite popular globally, and celebrities such as Rihanna and Blackpink’s Lisa have endorsed it, further increasing its popularity.
Sony Pictures claims that this film could be the start of a series and if it performs well, more films about Lobobodoll could be made in the future.

Although it has not yet been revealed whether the film will be live-action or animated, initial planning and production are underway, and a release date will be announced soon.
