Severe Cold and Rain Alert Issued

An alert has been issued for severe cold and rain in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the report, severe cold has been predicted in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa due to light rain and snowfall in the mountains.

According to the Meteorological Department, the weather will remain cold and partly cloudy in most parts of the country today. Morning and night temperatures are likely to be very low in the hilly areas.

There is a possibility of light rain and snowfall in the mountains in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. However, the plain areas of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are facing severe fog and pollution.

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a warning due to the forecast of rain in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

During the last 24 hours, the weather remained dry and cold in most parts of the country. The lowest temperature was reported in Leh, which was -9 degrees Celsius.

The temperature in Skardu, Ziarat and Gopis was 7, minus 6 and minus 5 degrees Celsius respectively. Gilgit and Quetta recorded a temperature of minus 4 degrees Celsius. Chitral, Dir and Kalat recorded a temperature of minus 3 degrees.
