Black Panther return to cinemas, upholding its commitment to advocate.
Boseman, who died of cancer at the age of 43 two years ago, is seen in several flashback scenes in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”
The filmmakers’ personal grief is reflected in the film, as Wakanda struggles to survive after the death of Boseman’s character, King T’Challa.
After nearly a year of work on the sequel, director Ryan Coogler decided to focus on T’Challa’s sister, Shuri, played by Letitia Wright.
“When you lose someone, there is a blast radius. It’s like a bomb has gone off.” Coogler stated during a press conference.
“The worst nightmare is that if you die, the people you love and leave behind will become disoriented and lost.” We were investigating everything “he stated.
Wright praised Coogler’s portrayal of her character’s journey through grief and ascension to the throne.
