Amjad Islam Amjad, Literary Genius in Pakistan Passed Away at 78

Pakistani poet-dramatist Amjad Islam Amjad pass away at 78 in Lahore.

Amjad Islam Amjad was born in Lahore on August 4, 1944. From the University of Punjab, he received his Masters in Urdu in 1967.

He was hired in 1968 to teach Urdu at the MAO College in Lahore. He stayed there as a professor until 1975.

He was appointed the Punjab Arts Council’s deputy director in August of the same year.

He has had a significant role in the literary world

Varis, Din, Fishar, and many other well-known dramas are only a few of his works.

He got an award for his well-known TV play Khuwab Jaagtay Hain in 1975.

He also translated the Urdu poetry collection Kale Logon ki Roshan Nazmein by African writers.

Amjad Islam Amjad has written more than 40 books over the course of a 50-year career and has also been awarded the Sitara-e-Imtiaz.

For his literary works and TV screenplays, he has won numerous accolades, including Pride of Performance.

The dramas “Waris,” “Dehleez,” “Samandar,” “Raat,” “Waqt,” and “Apnay Log” are just a few of his well-known productions.
