PMA request Khan to postpone long march for MDCAT exam on November 13.
The MDCAT exams has already been delayed by two months, and the new deadline was just announced. Rumours about the test’s cancellation had finally died down as of last Saturday, when PMC issued a statement confirming that it would take place as planned.
In his letter, PMC President Lt Col (retd) Ghulam Shabbir emphasised the delay, stating that if the test is delayed further, the school year for students will be lost.
He also mentioned that students and parents are concerned about getting to exam centres due to protests in Punjab. Given these considerations, the PMC chief requested that the long march be postponed until 4 p.m. on November 13.
PTI’s Long March Approaches
As the start of the PTI’s long march approaches, the party’s central leaders decided Wednesday to march from the same spot in Wazirabad where party chairman Imran Khan was injured during an attempted assassination.
During a meeting presided over by Khan in Lahore, the PTI decided that the “Haqeeqi Azadi” march would proceed toward Rawalpindi from the location of a public gathering.
The PTI said in a statement that party leaders from Faisalabad and other parts of the country would advance toward Rawalpindi in groups, with more convoys arriving in the third week of November.
According to the party’s briefing, a three-member probe committee will be formed by tomorrow and will provide an investigation conducted by local police to the joint investigation team.
Following its meeting, the PTI stated that it has only one demand: elections be held as soon as possible. The party has also demanded that all assemblies be dissolved and that a path be paved for immediate elections in all four provinces.
During the meeting, party members also passed a resolution in support of Khan, with all elected PTI members in the Centre, four provinces, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan requesting the Supreme Court to file a first information report (FIR) in response to the attack on their party chief.
