Afghanistan Rejects Pakistan’s Aid for Earthquake Victims

0

Afghanistan snubs Pakistani aid; tensions escalate in quake relief.

A 6.3-magnitude earthquake that rocked Afghanistan on Saturday claimed at least 1,000 lives and devastated numerous villages. When a further earthquake struck the area on Wednesday, there was additional damage.

Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar of Pakistan said that rescue and relief teams would be dispatched along with vital aid, and Pakistan quickly extended its help. However, Kabul’s refusal to grant clearance prevented the consignment and rescuers from being sent to Afghanistan. The Afghan denial appeared to be primarily motivated by the ongoing animosity between the two nations, despite the absence of formal communication from either side.

Another contributing factor was the Afghan government’s inability to distribute the aid delivered to Afghanistan by the international community.

However, it has come to light that the Afghan Taliban’s refusal to accept them was the primary reason Pakistan did not provide rescue and relief teams along with the aid.

Observers considered the development in the context of the ongoing hostilities between the two nations concerning the prohibited Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

Pakistan’s recent actions, which include the deportation of all unlawful Afghan immigrants, the imposition of limitations on Afghan imports, and the policy regarding visas for Afghans, have further complicated the relationship.

0

Virtual meeting tips: Boost productivity with etiquette and practices.

In the connected and fast-paced world of today, phone conference are becoming a necessary component of business communication. Learning how to do effective phone conferences is crucial for success, regardless of whether you’re interacting with partners, clients, or coworkers.

The Value of Successful Phone Conference

There are several benefits to phone conferences, including affordability, ease of use, and global networking opportunities. But if you don’t take the proper approach, they can turn into irritating and unproductive events very fast. The following tactics should be taken into consideration in order to maximize phone conferences:

Being Ready Is Essential

Effective planning is essential even before the conference call starts. Make sure the meeting has a clear agenda, and send it out to each person ahead of time. This keeps the call on course and enables everyone to arrive prepared with the relevant information.

Select the Appropriate Technology

It’s critical to choose the appropriate conferencing platform. Ensure that everyone using the technology has access to it and is conversant with its functions. If needed, hold test calls to work out any kinks before the real conference.

Commence on Time

Being on time shows professionalism. Commence the call promptly and urge everyone to join a few minutes early. By doing this, delays are avoided and the conference may proceed according to plan.

Declare the ground rules

Establish ground rules for participation to ensure that the call is productive and to maintain order. These guidelines may include speaking in a speaking order, using video where suitable, and turning off microphones when not in use. You may steer clear of distractions and disruptions by establishing clear guidelines.

Activate Your participants

In order to keep people’ attention and promote active engagement, you must engage them. Invite everyone to participate in discussions, pose open-ended questions, and solicit feedback. Participating with everyone allows you to gain access to a wide variety of viewpoints and thoughts.

Reaction Following the Call

Distribute meeting notes or minutes to every participant to guarantee that the outcomes of the conversation are recorded and taken into consideration. Give a clear description of the tasks, due dates, and roles. This guarantees that the conference makes a real difference and keeps everyone in the loop.

Phone Conference Protocols

Apart from adhering to these recommended standards, knowing phone conference etiquette is essential for fostering goodwill and upholding professionalism. Take into account these etiquette suggestions:

Be Mindful of Background Noise

It might be annoying and disturbing to hear background noise. Decide on a calm, well-lit area for the call and advise attendees to follow suit. In order to lower the possibility of noise interference, mute your microphone when you’re not speaking.

Wear Proper Clothes

Even though formal clothing isn’t usually required for phone conferences, dressing appropriately might help you prepare for a business-like conversation. Furthermore, if you want to activate your video, it can be significant.

Don’t Try to Multitask

Despite the temptation, multitasking during a phone conference can make it harder for you to fully engage and contribute. Put other work on the back burner and concentrate on the current meeting.

Be Professional in Your Wording

Throughout the conference, speak in a professional manner and use proper linguistic choices. Steer clear of any derogatory language, jargon, or slang that can lessen the efficiency of the discussion.

Observe time zones

Remember that participants might be located in several time zones. When determining the duration of meetings, take into account potential time variations and schedule them at a time that works for all parties.

Show Your Appreciation

Thank each participant for their time and contributions as the call comes to an end. Positive relationships can be fostered with as little as a “thank you”.

Conclusion

The ability to conduct effective phone conferences requires careful planning, the use of the right equipment, and adherence to best practices and etiquette. Your phone conferences will be effective, entertaining, and profitable if you adhere to the advice and guidelines provided in this book. In the current digital era, phone conferences can be effective instruments for cooperation and communication when used properly.

Luton Airport Reopens After Parking Garage Fire Disruption

0

Luton Airport resumes after fire, disrupted millions of passengers.

Following the fire that broke out late on Tuesday, numerous flights at Luton Airport, which is roughly 56 kilometers (35 miles) north of downtown London, were delayed, canceled, or diverted.

EasyJet, Ryanair, and other low-cost carriers that operate flights to locations in the UK and Europe use the airport as a hub, and officials there reported that planes were arriving and departing again on Wednesday afternoon.

According to Chief Fire Officer Andrew Hopkinson of the Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service, investigators think a diesel vehicle caused the fire. He claimed that there didn’t seem to be sprinklers in the recently opened parking garage.

Hopkinson said reporters, “And then that fire has quickly and rapidly spread.” According to him, almost a hundred firefighters were sent to put out the fire.

According to authorities, they don’t think the fire was purposely caused.

After their flights were canceled or delayed, several travelers were forced to wait in the nearby railway station or sleep on the airport floor.

A university student named Nikodem Lesiak claimed to have spent the night at the station while attempting to return to Poland.

“We were supposed to have our flight at 7:50 today, but it was canceled when we got here. Luton is burning and everything is closed,” he stated.

Video of police and fire department trucks gathered outside the multistory parking structure with the top level fully engulfed in flames was released on social media on Tuesday.

Following his flight from Edinburgh to Luton, 41-year-old Kinross, Scotland, account director Russell Taylor noticed the flames. He claimed that on an upper level of the garage that served Terminal 2, he initially noticed a few fire engines and an automobile that was on fire.

“After a short while, the majority of the upper level was engulfed in flames, and loud explosions from burning cars were setting off car alarms,” the man claimed. “It was amazing how quickly the fire spread.”

Details regarding the competition and the Pak Army contingent were provided by Colonel Taimur Rahat, Military and Air Attaché at the Pakistan High Commission in London.

Colonel Taimur claims that the units engage in exercises over a 60-kilometer radius that last 48 hours. To put soldiers mental and physical fortitude to the test, along with their endurance, participants deal with explosive materials and encounter battle scenarios.

Senior TTP Commander Killed in Afghanistan

0

Senior TTP commander’s killed in Afghanistan’s Kunar province clash.

Commander TTP Lucky Marwat Atiqur Rehman, popularly known as Tipu Gul, was wanted by Pakistan’s security forces for his involvement in the killing of several security and police personnel in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

TTP insiders told the media that Rahman had planned multiple attacks targeting security personnel. In February, a Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police operation identified Rehman as one of the 12 TTP militants killed during the operation. However, the banned organization has denied these reports.

However, TTP sources today confirmed the death of their commander during the exchange of fire.

TTP is a terrorist organization that has been fighting against the state of Pakistan since 2007. The group was formed from splinter elements of al-Qaeda and other militant factions seeking to impose Sharia law in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

The terrorist organization is responsible for killing thousands of innocent people including children. The TTP was also involved in the heinous attack on the Army Public School in Peshawar in December 2014.

Since 2018, the group has shifted its policy away from attacks on civilians and targeting Pakistani military personnel and intelligence operatives in retaliation for a Pakistani military operation in North Waziristan that killed key TTP militants. The infrastructure was completely destroyed.
