Common types of allergies:

  • Animal-derived products: These include dirt, insect excrement, and pet dander.

  • Insect stings: These include mosquitoes, wasps and bees.
  • Mold: Allergic reactions can be brought on by mold or mildew in the air.
  • Special plants: Plant allergies are often caused by grass, herb and tree pollens, as well as plant secretions such as poison ivy and poison oak.
  • Additional allergens: These include metals such as nickel, condoms, and latex gloves.
