Illinois man charged with hate crimes in fatal stabbing of 6-year-old.

The Will County Sheriff’s Office described the knife used to stab the youngster 26 times as a 7-inch (18-cm) military-style knife. The 32-year-old woman, who was stabbed multiple times in Plainfield Township, some 40 miles (64 km) southwest of Chicago on Saturday, is expected to survive.
In a statement, Biden declared, “This horrific act of hate has no place in America.”
The sheriff’s office charged the defendant, Joseph Czuba, 71, with two counts of hate crime, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, first-degree murder, and attempted first-degree murder.
The Will County Sheriff’s Office released a statement, stating, “Detectives determined that the suspect targeted both victims in this brutal attack because they are Muslims and due to the ongoing Middle Eastern conflict involving Hamas and the Israelis.”
Reuters was unable to locate Czuba’s lawyer. According to the office, they detained him pending his initial court appearance.
Despite Czuba’s constitutional right to remain silent and not speak to detectives, authorities claim that their determination of the charges was based on evidence and interviews.
Czuba had a cut on his forehead and was sitting on the ground outside the house when police arrived, according to reports from the site. In a bedroom were the victims.
Wadea Al-Fayoume is the boy’s name, according to the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), and Hanaan Shahin is his mother.
