Bollywood superstar Govinda Arun Ahuja accidentally shot himself with his revolver at his residence after which he was admitted to the hospital.
According to reports, the incident occurred at 5 am on Tuesday when the 60-year-old actor and leader of the political party Shiv Sena was alone in his Juhu home.
“We had a show in Kolkata and a 6 am flight, I had reached the airport and Govinda was leaving when he was accidentally shot in the leg,” the actor’s manager Shashi Sinha said in an initial statement.

According to Shashi Sinha, the licensed revolver fell while keeping it in the cupboard and accidentally fired, The bullet hit him in the knee causing a lot of bleeding. He was rushed to Kriti Care Hospital in Mumbai, where the bullet was removed, and he is now recovering. His manager, Shashi Sinha, confirmed that he is in stable condition and is being given proper medical care.
The manager added that after a minor operation at the hospital, the bullet had been removed from Govinda’s leg.
It should be noted that Govinda was extremely popular as a comedy hero in the 90s. Apart from his acting career, Govinda was a Member of Parliament of the Indian National Congress from 2004 to 2009. His family has extensive roots in the film industry, his father Arun Ahuja was an actor and his mother Nirmala Ahuja, was an actress and singer.
