Agreement Reached Between Pakistan & PayPal Regarding Online Payments.

According to News Agencies, Pakistan has Reached an Agreement with PayPal, the Company that Runs the Digital Payment (Online Payments) System in the World.

Caretaker Minister of Information Technology and Telecommunication Umar Saif said that PayPal will provide services in Pakistan through international payment gateway.

PayPal operates in a staggering 190 markets worldwide. PayPal has agreed to come to Pakistan through a strategic partnership.

IT Ministry officials said that the advent of PayPal will solve the payment problem of freelancers.

September last year, caretaker IT minister Umar Saif said plan establish freelancing centers across country.

Going to launch interest free loan scheme for freelancers, talks are going on with PayPal to facilitate inflow of dollars.

Umar Saif said that they are going to create funds for start-ups with the support of international companies. The government is going to allocate 3 billion rupees for startups.

He had said that highways national roaming will start in 2 months, users will have freedom to use different mobile networks on highways.

The regulatory framework is a major barrier to PayPal’s entry. The IT minister said the aim is to encourage responsible financial behavior and ensure that smartphone penetration continues to expand.

Under this policy, telecom companies will have the opportunity to offer smartphones directly to consumers through installment plans.

As a result, mobile broadband will become more advantageous in Pakistan, particularly for the lower-class populations.
