Ranbir Kapoor film Animal has created a record in the domestic market, selling 209,986 tickets in 6,036 shows and earning Rs 6.42 crore.
Advance bookings for Sandeep Reddy Wanga’s Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor, began on Saturday. Preliminary data suggests that the prediction is likely to be correct.
Film Animal is highly expected to cross Rs 50 crore on its opening day.
According to sources, the film has already been a huge success in the domestic market, earning Rs 6.42 crore from the sale of 2,09,986 tickets from 6,036 screenings.
In the Telugu language, 33,453 tickets (worth Rs. 54 lakh) were sold. 341 tickets (for Rs 32,740) were sold in Tamil. And 1,76,192 tickets (worth Rs. 5.87 crore) were sold in Hindi.
Telangana and Delhi are the two areas, which contributed the most to the advance sales of the film.
Confirming Ranbir Kapoor with the success of his recent films in the South market, Sakanlak believes that Animal will break the opening record of his Rajkumar Hirani film Sanju.
Ranbir Kapoor’s film is a long way ahead of Meghna Gulzar’s Sam Bahadur, a biographical war drama based on the life of India’s first Field Marshal, Sam Manekshaw, even though the Vicky Kaushal film has only been able to sell less than 15,000 tickets in advance bookings.
The British Film Board rated Animal at 18th. While the Central Board of Film Certification has awarded the film an A rating.
