Experts and the Information Technology Department of Sindh have declared Thar sand the best material for making computer chips.
According to him, manufacturing computer chip layers from That sand can meet the huge demand in the digital world market.
The federal and provincial governments have received plans for a silicon chip wafer foundry from the Department of Information Technology. Experts say you need coal, sand, and water to make chip wafers. Thar Sand works best for this, and you can get up to 250 MW of electricity from Tharki itself.
The cost for the development of the chip wafer foundry scheme is estimated at $450 million and can be completed through the CPEC project.
Additionally, there are 150 acres of land for a projected chip wafer foundry in Tharparkar, Islamkot District. Preliminary documents for the Chip Wafer Foundry project have been prepared by the Sindh Information Technology Department and sent to the concerned ministries.
