The first Pakistani Imam of Masjid Nabawi died

Pakistani imam Sheikh Qari Muhammad Khalil has passed away in Madinah.

Qari Mohammad Khalil, hailing from Muzaffarabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, served as the imam of Masjid Nabawi for many years. He also served as the imam of Masjid al-Quba, the first mosque built by Muslims. The Saudi government granted him citizenship.

His funeral prayer was performed in Masjid Nabawi after Maghrib prayer.

Renowned Qari and Muqri Muhammad Khalil passed away in his youth. The Sheikh was sick since January. It is a strange coincidence that his brother Sheikh Mahmood bin Khalil also died in his youth some time ago. He was also an imam in the Prophet’s Mosque.

His father Al-Shaikh Khalil Al-Qari was a prominent reciter of the state and the teacher of Imam al-Haramain, Imam Haram Madani Sheikh Muhammad Ayub and Bulbul Kaaba Sheikh Ali Al-Jabir were his students.

The Prime Minister of Pakistan expressed his deep sorrow over the death of Imam Al-Sheikh Qari Muhammad Khalil of Masjid Nabawi.

According to the press release issued by PM Office Media Wing, in his condolence message, the Prime Minister expressed his sympathy to the bereaved family and prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased.

He said that Qari Khalil’s services for Islam will be remembered forever. The Prime Minister prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased.
