Umair Jaswal Decides to 'Step Away' from Shoaib Akhtar's Biopic

Umair Jaswal quits Shoaib Akhtar biopic nomination due to commitments.

On Wednesday, Umair Jaswal announced on Twitter that he would no longer participate in the biopic.

He wrote: “I have opted to walk away from the Shoaib Akhtar biopic venture RAWALPINDI EXPRESS due to creative and moral reasons. I will no longer be affiliated with any media or news linked to this project.”


He stated,

I want the best for everyone conflicted

Akhtar, known as the “Rawalpindi Express,” is famed for his thunder velocity and capability to bowl ferocious bouncers, striking fear in the batters of his day as they approached the crease.

The speediest shot bowled in the history of cricket was 161.3 kph, and the former right arm also owns that record.

The singer had previously professed his gratitude for being a part of the movie.

The first foreign film about a Pakistani sports figure will be the biopic of Akhtar, which will be released on November 16, 2023.

Muhammad Faraz Qaiser and Qaiser Nawaz are the directors of Akhtar’s biopic.

Prior to resigning in 2011 after the ODI World Cup, Akhtar played for Pakistan in 224 international games and took 444 wickets.
