Warning of Three Heatwaves Continued, NDMA

NDMA has issued three heatwaves warning in 25 days.

Lahore: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a warning that there is a possibility of three heatwaves in different places of Sindh and Punjab during the next 25 days.

According to the NDMA, the cities of Umarkot, Tharparkar, Tandoalayar, Matiari and Sanghar in Sindh, as well as Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan in Punjab are at risk of experiencing the first heat wave.

According to the NDMA, the temperature in these places may rise to 40 degrees between May 15 and May 30. The first heat wave of the season can last two or three days.

The second heat wave, with temperatures likely to reach 45 degrees, is predicted to arrive in late May or early June and last for four to five days.

A third heat wave is predicted in the first ten days of June which is likely to affect Tharparkar, Umarkot, Sanghar, Badin and Khairpur.

Meanwhile, isolated places over Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Upper Punjab, North/Central Balochistan, and Kashmir are forecast to witness rain, gale, or thundershowers in the afternoon or evening.

Temperatures of major cities recorded this morning

Islamabad 22 degrees Celsius, Lahore 30, Karachi 29, Peshawar 24, Quetta 18, Gilgit 15, Murree 17 and Muzaffarabad 20 degrees Celsius.
