LHC Justice overrules registrar objection in “Joyland” film petition.
The judge heard the petition as an “objection case” since the office questioned its viability. The petitioner, Mian Bilal, argued through his counsel that the film’s concept and content are centered on a man’s love and relationship with a transgender person. He said that the picture included ‘objectionable’ material that violated the country’s social ideals and moral standards.
He claimed that the film is not only against the public interest but also encourages males in the nation to have homosexual relationships, which is against Islamic teachings. As a result, the petitioner urged the court to prohibit the film’s exhibition and to require the government to revoke its censoring certificate.
