Phoenix Diana, World First Hijab-Wearing 22-year Professional Wrestler

Nor Phoenix Diana World’s First Hijab Wearing 22 Years Old Professional Wrestler

At 22, Nor Phoenix Diana breaks barriers as the first hijabi wrestler.

Since making her Malaysian wrestling debut in 2014, Nor Phoenix Diana has been progressing, but her big moment came in 2019 when she competed against four men and won the Malaysia Pro Wrestling Wrestlecon Championship.

She has now gained recognition as a significant female wrestler and has even made it onto the Forbes 30 under 30 rankings.

She goes by the ring name “The Phoenix,” which stands for her unwavering drive and resolve to be the greatest version of herself and to triumph time and time again despite whatever challenges she may face. Although wrestling might be difficult at times, Nor’s passion for the sport never fades because of her coach, her sponsors, and fans all around the world.

In addition to continuing to break down boundaries in the wrestling industry as a Muslim woman wearing a hijab, she wishes to encourage other Muslimahs to follow their own aspirations, no matter how impossible they may appear.

More Introduction

After winning the first female champion of the Malaysia Pro Wrestling (MyPW) Wrestlecon championship in July, Nor Diana, Malaysia’s first hijab-clad female professional wrestler, names herself Phoenix in the ring and is breaking down barriers. International media coverage followed her triumph. With the help of her family, she joined MyPW in 2015, and a few months later, she took part in her first match. Following her victory in MyPW, Nor abandoned her work to train in London with the UK’s Pro Wrestling: EVE in November of last year. Although she has received criticism for fighting and for wearing tight costumes in Malaysia’s internet community, the number of young women in that country who are interested in wrestling has increased as a result of her participation in the sport.
