Usman Khawaja’s India Visa Delayed Ahead of Test Tour

Usman Khawaja still awaiting an Indian Visa for Upcoming Test Tour.

Usman Khawaja, who migrated to Australia when he was four years old, had previously toured India, but he also encountered complications since getting his visa took longer than it did for teammates who were also Australian-born.

According to Australian media, visas for travelling athletes and support personnel started to arrive in early January, and some have already started travelling to Bengaluru, where the squad would set up a pre-match camp.

Since their division in 1947, tensions between Pakistan and India have frequently permeated into sports.

The last bilateral series between the two nations took place ten years ago, and Pakistani players are no longer allowed to compete in the famous T20 Indian Premier League.

Australia is attempting to take the first Test series victory in India in over ten years. Test matches will be held at Nagpur, Delhi, Dharamsala, and finally in Ahmedabad at the biggest cricket stadium on earth.

Khawaja made a surprising comeback against England in the 2021–2022 Ashes after being absent from the Test team for about two years.

In a recent encounter against South Africa in Sydney, where he was 195 not out, he recorded his 4000th Test run.

Khawaja’s 1,020 runs at an average of 78.46 earned him the first Shane Warne Men’s Test Player of the Year honour.
