Pakistan to launch National University Public Health, says Dr Shahzad.
The first institution in Pakistan, as per Dr. Shahzad, to offer Ph.D. and master’s in public health (MPH) degrees in six different fields is HSA.
Just 23 people were enrolled when the college was established, since then the amount has risen to 750.
A seven-story building would be constructed on seven acres of land, according to Dr. Shahzad, who also stated that the PC-1 for the HSA building’s construction has been approved.

Dr. Shahzad continued by stating that the HSA planned to build institutes for every discipline, akin to the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST).
In conjunction with the National Command and Operation Centre, the HSA acted on the front lines during the COVID-19 epidemic (NCOC).
28 Ph.D.’s are working by HSA, which Dr. Shahzad claims is the only organization of its kind in the nation. The growth of the Public Health Department, he said, required the HSA.
Tuition fees, donations, money from USAID and HEC, as well as monies from other sources, are some of the funding sources for the HSA.
The HSA offers Ph.D., Master’s, and BSc. programmes for students studying medicine and other fields.
Dr. Shahzad praised the NCOC for its part in slowing the COVID-19 pandemic’s spread in the nation.
Nonetheless, he emphasized the significance of heightened cooperation in order to eradicate polio, hepatitis, cancer, dengue, and other lethal diseases in Pakistan.
