PMD Says, The details indicate that the Cyclone Biparjoy away 396 kilometers from Karachi, and Water has gotten inside the homes in Ormara. According to the Sindh government, the entire coastal region of Karachi and Sindh may be impacted if the storm alters its trajectory.
The severity of Cyclone Bipjoy, which developed in the Arabian Sea, has had an impact on Pakistani and Indian coastlines. Balochistan and Ormara’s coastal residents reported that seawater had penetrated their homes and businesses.
The cyclone will come from India and pass over Badin and Tharparkar, according to the meteorological department. Keti Bandar’s fisherman docks their boats on the sand. Also starting to arrive from Badin were fishermen. There are still a lot of fishermen out at sea.

The Commissioner of Sindh’s Capital Karachi orders billboards to be taken down.
Iqbal Memon, the commissioner of Karachi, has ordered all billboards to be taken down from the city in light of the Arabian Sea Cyclone “Biparjoy,” which has grown to be an “extremely severe cyclonic storm.”
Memon has ordered the immediate removal of all signboards from buildings and rooftops in a letter to all deputy commissioners. Additionally, he mandated that all deputy commissioners stay active in their respective regions and take safety precautions in light of the predicted rain and strong gusts brought on by Cyclone Biparjoy.
Meantime, the Hyderabad district administration has requested that all billboards and signboards be taken down immediately due to the approaching storm.
In a letter sent to the Regional Director of Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA), the Municipal Commissioner of Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (HMC), the Executive Officer of Cantonment Board Hyderabad (CBH), and 3 other municipal officials on Sunday, the instructions were made known in this location.
To prevent any unfortunate incidents, the offices had been requested to take down all billboards and signboards in public areas. Additionally, they had been told to have backup generators prepared in case they were needed to dewater the rainwater.
Karachi Authorities
Authorities in Sindh and Balochistan have issued red alerts and prohibited swimming and fishing in coastal regions as a result of the Very Severe Cyclonic Storm (VSCS) “BIPARJOY” over the eastern Arabian Sea, which is still gaining strength and is only 750 kilometers from thatta and 770 kilometers away from Karachi, respectively.
Under Section 144, the government of Karachi, a port city in the south, put a complete stop to enter into the open sea for sailing, fishing, swimming, or bathing.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) warned fishermen not to enter into open waters beginning on Monday, June 12, 2023, until the system has passed because “Arabian Sea conditions may get very rough/high accompanied by high tides along the coast.” As a result, the prohibition was enacted.
As soon as the cyclone hits the coastal region, the tides may increase by as much as 10 feet.
PMD Stated about Cyclone Biparjoy
The system was situated about 9.45 p.m. on Saturday, 840 km south of Karachi, 830 km south of Thatta, and 930 km southeast of Ormara, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) notice.
According to the Met department, the extremely dangerous cyclonic storm Biparjoy, which is currently over the east-central Arabian Sea, is still gaining strength and has moved further north-northeast over the past 12 hours.
It is currently located close to Latitude 17.3°N and Longitude 67.4°E, around 840 kilometers south of Karachi, 830 kilometers south of Thatta, and 930 kilometers southeast of Ormara.
According to the notification, the implementation of Section 144 would begin on June 11 and last “until the end of the storm.” It also stated that the steps were taken to prevent any unfavorable incidents including shipwrecks and drownings.
In consultation with the relevant SSP Karachi, the pertinent deputy commissioners and assistant commissioners have been authorized to take action against the violators and book them under section 188 PPC.
