Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain visited Parvez Elahi at the Lahore Camp Jail.
Details indicate that Chaudhry Salik, the son of Shujaat, and Chaudhry Wajahat, the brother, were also present at the Visits Elahi in Jail.
They discussed the current political climate in addition to asking about Elahi’s health.
Before the meeting, the medical board team also visited Camp Jail to examine Elahi. Dr. Amir Hussain Bandesha and Dr. Abdul Basit were on the team.
Notably, since the first of June, Elahi has been detained by the police. After being released by a court, he was recently detained again by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in connection with a new case.
Shujaat and Elahi’s meeting at Lahore Camp Jail last month was a sign that the once inseparable cousins were beginning to warm up to one another.
However, once Elahi, a former top PML-Q politician, joined the PTI in March, two months after the PTI decided to dissolve the Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa assemblies where the party was in control, the two had a public falling out.
Despite a government crackdown and a massive flight of politicians from the previous ruling party, Elahi is one of the PTI leaders who is sticking by the party.
