Putin gave North Korea’s Kim Jong-Un Car as a Gift

The North Korean leader Kim Jong-un received a car as gift from Putin.

President Vladimir Putin of Russia gave North Korean leader Kim Jong Un a car as a gift “for his personal use,” according to official media on Tuesday.

This could be in violation of the UN ban that Moscow had agreed to impose on Pyongyang.

Since Kim and Putin met in September 2023, the two countries have forged strong ties and pledged to expand ties in all sectors.

Because their international isolation has deepened over Russia’s war in Ukraine and the North’s nuclear weapons development.

The Russian-made car was delivered to Kim’s top aides by the Russian side on February 18, official KCNA news agency said.

“Courtesy conveying Kim Jong Un’s thanks to Putin to the Russian side, the gift serves as a clear demonstration of the special personal relations between the top leaders,” Kim’s sister reportedly stated, according to KCNA.

The vehicle and its shipment from Russia were not detailed in the report. Kim is thought to be a huge fan of cars and has amassed a sizable collection of expensive foreign cars that are probably smuggled in.

While inspecting Putin’s presidential Aurus Senat limousine in September, Kim accepted Putin’s invitation to have a seat in the back while at Russia’s satellite launch station in the far east.

Kim personally took a Maybach limousine that was shipped from Pyongyang on a special train to the destination.

That vehicle and others he had been seen in including several Mercedes limousines, a Rolls-Royce Phantom and a Lexus sports utility vehicle fall under luxury goods that UN Security Council resolutions ban from export to North Korea.

Russia Artillery:

The two nations’ exchanges have becoming more frequent, and it’s thought that North Korea is giving Russia artillery, rockets, and ballistic missiles to use in the conflict with Ukraine.

The employment of weaponry manufactured in North Korea has not been disputed or verified by the Kremlin.

The claim that North Korea has been shipping weapons to Russia, which would also be against UN sanctions, is refuted.

A team of North Korean ruling party leaders returned from Russia on Tuesday, and three delegations representing information technology, fisheries, and sports left for Russia, according to separate reports from KCNA.
