PM Shehbaz Sharif to visit China sign agreements for CPEC cooperation.
PM Shehbaz china visit will be accompanied by a high-level team, including Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, according to a statement from the Foreign Office.
Li Keqiang, the People’s Republic of China‘s Premier of the State Council, invited the prime minister to make the trip.
“The visit is also expected to advance the wide-ranging bilateral cooperation agenda with the conclusion of a number of MoUs/ Agreements in diverse areas, and consolidate the momentum of CPEC cooperation in the wake of the 11th meeting of the CPEC Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC) on 27th October 2022,” it added.
This would be the first PM Shehbaz China visit since assuming office in April 2022 and following his meeting with President Xi Jinping in Uzbekistan on 16th September 2022. Prime Minister will be among the first leaders to visit China following the historic 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
“The visit of the prime minister continues the frequent exchanges of top-level delegations between Pakistan and China. According to the statement, “The Prime Minister will meet with President Xi Jinping and hold delegation-level discussions with Premier Li Keqiang. The two sides will also review their All-Weather Strategic Cooperation Partnership and discuss current domestic and international events.
Earlier, on October 25, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman invited Prime Minister to visit Saudi Arabia. The Crown Prince and several of his entourage met with the Prime Minister privately while he was in the Kingdom. During his visit to Saudi Arabia, he also spoke at the Future Investment Initiative (FII) Conference.
