Sindh Govt Launched New Electric Bus Service in Karachi

Govt launch completely environmentally-friendly electric bus service.

Sharjeel Inam Memon, the minister of Sindh’s information and transportation, posted a brief description of the new programme for new electric bus service on social media.

“In Karachi, the transportation division of the government of Sindh will start the new bus service. These are Pakistan’s first totally environmentally friendly electrical vehicles. Tomorrow, we’ll begin the test drive in the city “Tweeted he.

The Pakistan Peoples Party government unveiled a brand-new plan as it equally launched two new Peoples Bus Service lines and continuing transportation projects.

However, given that the similar project failed to succeed last year, there are still concerns about the viability of electric buses.

According to a source with access to the situation, “the Sindh government took a similar initiative in March 2021 and started the nation’s first electric bus project in Karachi with a promise that by the end of the year, the number of these eco-friendly vehicles will rise to 100.”

“The electric bus was launched to travel between Tower and Sohrab Goth, and the fare was set at just Rs. 10 for one stop.
