Who is Abrar-ul-Haq?
Abrar-ul-Haq is a Pakistani singer-songwriter, politician, and philanthropist . He became well-known and was given the title of “King of Pakistani pop” after his debut album Billo De Ghar from 1995 sold more than 40.3 million copies globally.
The private Sahara for Life Trust, founded and led by Abrar-ul-Haq, has been offering health care to residents of Narowal and the neighbouring areas since 1998.
In the 2018 Pakistani general election, he was Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s nominee for NA-78 (Narowal-II), a seat in the National Assembly.
He was named Chairman of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) on November 15, 2019. In addition, he briefly worked as a teacher at Aitchison College.
Abrar-ul-Haq expressed regret for supporting Imran Khan at a news conference in Lahore. Haq claimed to have come from a political and military family while growing up.
The singer-turned-politician expressed his admiration for the martyrs by saying that he salutes any images of martyrs that he comes across.
