Apple update MacBook Pro 14-inch, 16-inch, M2 Pro & M2 Max processor.
Better connectivity options and a lower starting price for Mac mini are features of these new versions.
2023 MacBook Pro
M2 Pro and M2 Max chips, which assert to provide up to 20% higher CPU performance and 30% faster GPU power compared to the previous generation, can now be installed in MacBook Pro 14-inch and 16-inch models.
Users have the opportunity to create their own processor, memory, and storage configurations or select from Apple’s pre-set alternatives.
There are two M2 Pro configurations: a 10-core CPU and 16-core GPU, or a 12-core CPU and 19-core GPU.
The 12-core CPU and 30- or 38-core GPU configurations for the M1 Max are available.
The improved unified memory configurations of the new processors are also found in the 2023 MacBook Pro and Mac mini models.
While the M2 Max offers 32 GB, 64 GB, and 96 GB options, the M2 Pro offers 16 GB and 32 GB RAM options.
The built-in flash storage may be set up to hold anything from 512 GB to an incredible 8 TB. The model with the lowest price has 512 GB of storage and 16 GB of RAM.
With the 14-inch model offering 18 hours of video playback and 12 hours of wireless web browsing, the upgraded processors help extend battery life.
The 16-inch model delivers 15 hours of wireless web browsing and 22 hours of movie playback.
The updated MacBook Pros also come with better connectivity choices, such as Apple Wi-Fi 6E for quicker wireless connectivity and HDMI 2.1, which supports resolutions as high as 8K at 60Hz and 4K at 240Hz.
The three new 14-inch versions start at $1999, $2499, and $3099, while the three new 16-inch models cost $2499, $2699, and $3499, respectively.
The Apple online shop allows for the configuration of all models.
Mac Mini
The previous Intel model has been retired, therefore the new Mac mini sports the M2 and M2 Pro CPUs and a lower starting price of $599.
There are two different Mac mini models available: the $599 model, which has an M2 processor, an 8-core CPU, a 10-core GPU, and 8 GB RAM; and the $799 model, which has an M2 processor but may be ordered with 16 GB or 24 GB RAM.
The $1299 model features a 10-core CPU and 16-core GPU, although these can be increased to 12 cores and 19 cores, respectively, for the CPU and GPU.
It contains 16 GB of RAM, expandable to 32 GB.
There is no M2 Max option for the Mac mini, but the M2 variant offers up to 2 TB of storage and its M2 Pro sister can support up to 8 TB.
Regarding availability, preorders are now being taken for the Mac Mini and both MacBook Pro versions, with deliveries beginning on January 24.
