Arshad Nadeem Wins Silver at World Athletics Championship

Pak javelin thrower Arshad secures silver at Athletics Championship.

In his third attempt, Arshad Nadeem recorded his best throw of 87.82 meters, winning the silver medal. Neeraj Chopra of India won the gold medal with a best throw of 88.17 meters. Czech Republic’s Jakub Vadlejch won bronze with an 86.67-meter throw.

Neeraj Chopra of India started with a foul, but Pakistan top javelin thrower Arshad returned to the race with a superb 82.81m throw on his second attempt. Arshad started out with a 74.80m throw.

However, Arshad’s third attempt which went 87.82 m and earned him the second place on the points table was the largest success.

The next time we’ll see Arshad and Neeraj in action will be in the Olympics in Paris in 2024. As Pakistan’s first-ever medal in the World Athletics Championship, Arshad made history.

After winning, Arshad Nadeem posted on X that this was the first time in Pakistani history that a Pakistani athlete had taken home a medal at the World Athletics Championships.
