Asad Umar, PTI general secretary, issues apology to ECP for contempt.
Imran Khan, Asad Umar, and Fawad Chaudhry, the chairman and vice president of the PTI, were the targets of a contempt case hear by the ECP.
As per Asad Umar, nothing about the ECP should be interpreted as an insult. “I apologize if the ECP still believes that it was offend. I give myself over to its whim,” he continue,
A response to the show-cause notice was also facilitate by the PTI leader.
Umar retorted that the notice was unlawful. The ECP, not its secretary, he argued,
“may send a show-cause notice”
The PTI leader insisted that he had not stated anything to incite feelings of contempt and added that he had neither scandalised nor attempted to discredit the ECP.
He tried to claim that the party had rebelled against the ECP’s prejudice.
“The ECP gave a unilateral report based on malice in the restricted funding case.”
As per him, the commission had designated it as a party with foreign funding and had referred the matter to the government.
Because PTI cases give short deadlines and other cases give extend deadlines, the ECP exclusively hears cases that are against the PTI.
He claimed that only the PTI’s investigation was complete in the funding situation as well.
Elections were taking place in their constituency, as per Imran Khan and Fawad Chaudhry’s attorney Faisal Chaudhry. “Fawad and I are running for office together.
So it would be reasonable to announce the date following the election.
The hearing was postpone until Feb. 28 by the ECP.
