Babar Azam slips in Test rankings; retains top ODI player position.
Babar Azam, the captain of the national cricket team, has fallen one position in the ICC Test batting rankings, per the latest ranking information provided by the ICC. His 862 points have put him in fifth place.
The first World Test Championship match between Australia and India saw Marnus Labuschagne score 903 points, Steve Smith finish second with 885 points, and Tresos Head finish third with 884 points.
Along with this, skipper Babar Azam of Pakistan has moved up to the fifth position after one position, while New Zealand’s Kane Williamson, who had 883 points, had dropped to fourth after two positions.
In contrast, skipper Babar Azam continues to lead the ODI rankings. While Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq are in the third and fourth spots, respectively. In the T20 rankings, Surya Kumar Yadav is ranked first, followed by Muhammad Rizwan and Babar Azam, who are in the second and third spots, respectively. Shadab Khan is ranked fourth in the T20 all-around category and Shaheen Afridi is fifth in the Test bowling rankings.
