BCCI Secretary denies rumors of traveling to Pakistan for Asia Cup.
Media sources claim that Ashraf invited Shah to witness Asia Cup games in Pakistan, and the BCCI secretary allegedly accepted.
Shah made it clear that he had not consented to any such visit and would not be making the trip, claiming that there had been a misunderstanding or intentional mischief.
“I’ve made no agreements. This misinterpretation is blatant. Most likely done on purpose or with malice. Shah informed a media station in India that he would not be paying any visits.
On the sidelines of an International Cricket Council conference in Durban, South Africa, Jay Shah and Zaka Ashraf, the chairman of the interim management committee of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), met.
“The people of Pakistan know how to welcome and look after their visitors. This is a solid beginning. We’ll hold more sessions like this in the future, according to Ashraf.
Ashraf said, Shah was invited by him to come to Pakistan for the Asia Cup and was then invited to India for the World Cup.
“Such a talk wasn’t held. Contrary to rumor’s that have surfaced, neither India nor our secretary will be visiting Pakistan. Only the schedule was set in stone, he said.
Shah and Ashraf agreed to the hybrid format after talking about the Asia Cup’s scheduling. On Friday, the schedule is also anticipated to be made public.
