PEMRA bans Imran Khan’s speeches on TV, citing provocative statements.
The media watchdog asked all TV networks to desist from airing Khan’s live or recorded statements, speeches, and chats in PEMRA notification. Imran Khan is always blaming state institutions by leveling bogus claims, The statement continued.
The judgment came just hours after the erstwhile prime minister, who depose in an April no-confidence vote, deliver a fiery speech outside Zaman Park mansion in Lahore following the arrival of a police squad to arrest in the Toshakhana case.
According to the notification, the PTI head promoted hatred towards the institutions and their officers through his inflammatory utterances. It went on to say that his words could lead to a breakdown in the country’s law and order.

On February 21, the media regulatory authority also prohibited television broadcasters from covering terror acts. The guidelines issued in response to previous decisions requiring TV stations to follow the rules of the PEMRA Electronic Media Code of Conduct 2015.
In response, PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry called the measure a “nefarious attempt to suppress Imran Khan’s voice” by the government. He Said; the party would contest the ban in court and asked the media to do the same.
Meanwhile, HRCP condemned Pemra’s decision to prohibit PTI president Imran Khan’s live and taped remarks from being broadcast on electronic media.
“We have always resisted attempts to curtail voices in the past—whether under the previous government or earlier—and we continue to stand by our commitment to freedom of speech, regardless of the person’s political views,” the HRCP stated in a statement issued on Sunday.
Afterward, the regulatory authorities suspended the license of a private TV channel under Section 30(3) of the Pemra Ordinance, citing the channel’s purposeful violation of the restriction on broadcasting Imran Khan’s statements.
