Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, who is in charge of the Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, welcomed Prince Bandar bin Sultan when he arrived at the Grand Mosque in his capacity as the Deputy Emir of Makkah.

This day marks the annual ritual cleaning of the Kaaba. The sacred building’s walls are cleaned as part of this ceremony by participants using a cloth dipped in a solution of rosewater, zamzam water, and other perfumes.

The General Presidency had already lifted the lowest portion of the kiswa, a protective covering for the Kaaba, in preparation for the cleaning procedure. In addition, a virtual exhibition was set up to display the tools used in the purification of the Kaaba. This program intends to improve the experience of worshippers who go to Makkah and Madinah’s sacred mosques to offer their prayers.
