Muzamil Aslam advised citizens to earn money by selling US dollars.
In a video message on Instagram, the economist advised exporters to earn money by selling before the dollar depreciates.
Muzmal Aslam suggested selling the greenback, calling Rs 270 per dollar a ‘lottery’ as he could not get a ‘better rate’.
Taking a jibe at the PDM government, he said the dollar rose due to the ‘incompetence’ of Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif.
The US dollar may fall to Rs 230-240, he added, urging exporters to sell foreign currency and consolidate money for themselves as well as the economy.
It may be recalled that the Pakistani rupee finally recovered against the US dollar, as the local currency gained 1.79 rupees against the greenback in the interbank market.
The interbank market has increased by Rs 36.91 since Thursday after the Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan (Ecap) removed the unofficial cap on the exchange rate.
Earlier, the Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan (ECAP) had removed the cap on the US dollar to eliminate ‘artificial’ demand in the market.
