ECP issues arrest warrant for PTI’s Ali Amin Gandapur, KPK CM nominee.
Ali Amin Gandapur, a candidate for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa CM and a member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has an arrest warrant issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) of Azad Kashmir on Thursday.
Gandapur’s warrant was granted by the electoral watchdog in response to a code of conduct violation during the elections in Azad Kashmir.
A letter about Ali Amin Gandapur’s detention has also been addressed to DI Khan’s Deputy Commissioner. The letter instructed officials to bring Ali before the Election Commission of Azad Kashmir by February 28.
Following the recent general elections, authorities began attempting to detain a number of candidates who had been pronounced proclaimed offenders in prior cases.
PTI officials Ali Amin Gandapur and others were declared declared criminals due to their purported participation in the May 9 disturbances.
