Musk’s Neuralink firm intends to implant a computer chip in the brain.
According to a foreign news agency, Elon Musk’s company will conduct the first clinical trial of implant a computer chip in the human brain.
The company said it has been granted permission to recruit patients for a human trial that will test its new technology on people with disabilities. It is being worked on for 6 years.
Last year, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) denied Elon Musk permission to implanting a computer chip in the human brain, but in May 2023, clinical trials were allowed.
Neuralink said in a statement that participants in the clinical trial will be people with spinal cord injuries and disabilities.
These people will undergo surgery to implanting a chip in the part of their brain responsible for controlling movement, enabling them to operate a computer cursor or keyboard entirely with their thoughts.
