Indian airline commercial flight emergency landed at Karachi Airport.
The Civil Aviation Authority was cited in local media reports that stated an Indian airline, SpiceJet, was forced to make an emergency landing in Pakistan’s largest city, Karachi, after a passenger’s condition worsened on a flight from Dubai.
The report stated that the aircraft took off from Ahmedabad at 8:38 p.m. on its way to Dubai; however, not long after, Dhruv Dharimesh Kumar, a 27-year-old citizen, went unconscious due to low blood sugar. The pilot made the decision to land the aircraft in Pakistan while it was over the Arabian Sea, close to Karachi.
The airline’s captain requested permission from Karachi Air Traffic Control before making a landing. A group of medical professionals attended to the passenger after that.
After receiving medical attention from aviation medics, the man’s condition stabilized, and at approximately 11 p.m. on Tuesday, the aircraft refueled and took off from Karachi for Dubai.
Since there are no direct flights between Pakistan and India, this is the second Indian airline to make an emergency landing in Pakistan in a few weeks.
