Ghulam Sarwar Khan Arrested in Islamabad

PTI leader Ghulam Sarwar Khan has been arrested in May 9 riots case.

Ghulam Sarwar Khan, his son Mansoor Hayat and his nephew Ammar Siddiqui were arrested at a friend house in the federal capital F-8 Sector.

The former minister was allegedly wanted by police in connection with the unrest on May 9 brought on by the arrest of the PTI leader, including the attack on the Judicial Complex.

According to the police, cases against the defendants have been filed in Islamabad, Taxila, and Rawalpindi.

Police searched for the former minister and carried out several searches to bring him in. His petrol station had also been sealed by the authorities.

Following the PTI chairman detention from the Islamabad High Court (IHC) last month, violent confrontations broke out all throughout the nation.

As the party members turned to violence, protests were staged in cities all throughout the country.

During a PTI worker protest, the Corps Commander home and army installations in Lahore came under attack.

The protesters assaulted military installations, looted martyrs monuments, and destroyed both public and private property.

All individuals implicated in vandalism, arson, and property looting would receive exemplary punishment under the Army Act, according to the civil and military leadership.
