Google Chrome is Finally Getting Dynamic Themes from Android

Google Material You Dynamic Themes: Android-exclusive since launch.

It harmonises the primary colors of your wallpaper with the overall design of your phone, and soon it will be available on other operating systems like Windows, macOS, Linux, and others, at least for Google Chrome. Material You will be available in the browser on Windows and the aforementioned platforms with the most recent Chrome Canary release Dynamic Themes, version 110. Reddit user u/Leopeva64-2 discovered this and reported about it on the r/Chrome subreddit.

This version of material you is only compatible with Chrome since smartphones cannot connect to desktop wallpaper, unlike smartphones. With the new version, Chrome will be able to select the primary hues of any theme you select and use them throughout the entire browser. For instance, your entire browser will have the same shade of blue if you choose a background with blue as its primary colour.

If you want to use alternative colors for your address bar and tabs, you will need to manually turn off the flag once more. Without it, your themes will keep controlling the browser’s overall color scheme.
