Pakistani hockey player Abdul Hanan Shahid wins Emerging Player Award.
Hanan Shahid was one of the game’s star players and left everyone in awe of his incredible talent. For Pakistan, who finished fifth in the competition, he had scored twice in six games.
“The competition offered a stage for aspiring athletes to flourish, and Abdul Shahid from Pakistan responded to the challenge. His outstanding performance and promise earned him the Emerging Player Award, highlighting his bright future in the hockey world, according to a news release from the Asian Hockey Federation.
Only two of the competition’s games were victories for the national hockey team, and both of those victories came against China. In contrast to the finalist teams, India and Malaysia, they drew and lost to Korea and Japan.
In a thrilling seven-goal match on Saturday in Chennai, India defeated Malaysia 4-3 to claim the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy 2023.
