The director and his Padmaavat costume designers, Rimpal and Harpreet, have once more collaborated on a look that features heavy gold costumes and kundun jewellery. The performers wore black and copper lehenga cholis with antique jewellery in a previous piece.
Prior to the subcontinent’s Partition, the vibrant red-light district of Heeramandi was the subject of stories about courtesans and a hidden cultural reality that is explored in Heeramandi. The film promises to feature Bhansali’s renowned larger-than-life sets, complex characters, and soulful songs. It is about love, treachery, succession, and politics in the kothas.
“Heeramandi represents a significant turning point in my development as a director. This is an enormous, first-of-its-kind series that is inspired by the Lahore courtesans. I am anxious but delighted to create this series since it is ambitious, huge, and all-encompassing. I’m looking forward to working with Netflix and introducing Heeramandi to viewers everywhere “referred to Bhansali.
