Idalia hurricane: 125 mph winds. 2 deaths in rain-related accidents.
According to the International News Agency, heavy rains are continuing in Florida due to Hurricane Idalia. As a result, several feet of water accumulated on highways and flooded coastal areas.
States of emergency were declared in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina due to the hurricane. Due to strong winds and heavy rains, electricity has been cut in several districts and thousands of people have been shifted from coastal areas to safer places.
More than 1,000 flights were canceled and nearly 2,000 people experienced travel delays due to Hurricane Idalia. Educational institutions have also been closed in the affected areas.
The National Weather Service expects 4 to 8 inches of rain along the path of the storm.
